What is sensual eating? Eating that allows you to drop fully INTO your body and your senses, using them to engage in the act of eating with presence, intention, love, and gratitude. It’s all quite romantic and incredibly healing too.
There is an art to sensual eating actually. I love to play around with sensual eating on a day to day basis and I’m getting more deeply into it as I learn what foods bring me pleasure and how to eat in a way that brings me into my sensual, orgasmic, and feminine essence.
As women, we have this sensual Shakti power within us. It’s our creativity, fluidity, life-force, radiance, and vitality. It’s our ability to tap into pleasure and ecstasy through our senses—so why not bring that into the way we eat our food?

Choose foods that are nutritious AND pleasurable for YOUR body.
Eat whole foods and allow your body to choose them intuitively. If you listen in, she’ll tell you what feels good for her, what nourishes her, and what she’s craving. I struggled with my eating habits for years—anxious eating, sugar addiction, emotional eating, orthorexia where I forced myself to be vegan (because I love animals & the planet), but ignored my body when she started shutting down!
After losing a severe amount of weight (I’m already small enough), having problems with my eyesight, feeling in a constant state of vertigo, having my hair fall out, and my belly being bloated so badly that I could hardly walk, I knew something needed to change.
I had zero pleasure in my diet at that time. I listened to what everyone else told me to eat. It felt like I had closed myself off from my own sensuality, pleasure, feminine essence, and intuition—and I had.
Choose food that feels good for you. Let it delight you. Let yourself have treats. Yes, it’s essential to listen to your body and honor all of the factors that can affect our body’s needs (climate, age, cycle, location, deficiencies, etc.), but it’s also just as essential to eat food from a place of ease, ecstasy, trust, and love—with a huge amount of pleasure.
Counting calories, following fad diets, and ignoring your body is NOT the answer, lover. Trust yourself. Your body knows what she wants and she wants yumminess, nutrition, AND pleasure.
Treat your food like a love potion and erotic lover.
My favorite part about the art of sensual eating is treating my food like a love potion, infusing it with incantations and love spells, blessings, intentions, prayers, and tons of sensual, erotic love. I imagine sending so much love, pleasure and sensual goodness into my food as I’m placing herbs atop my spaghetti or sprinkling crushed rose petals and cacao nibs into my blender.
Something I also do to get my sensuality and Shakti flowing while I’m preparing food (whether I’m sautéing mushrooms, blending an elixir, or mashing an avocado) is to do a practice I call BREATHE + PULSE. This is a delicious, sensual, and orgasmic embodiment practice to get into your body and pleasure—specifically in your feminine, sensual pelvic region. Have you ever thought about preparing food FROM your pelvic region {your yoni specifically}—from that energy?
Let me elaborate…
Here’s how to do the BREATHE + PULSE. It’s quick, simple and you can do it anytime, anywhere. It will make you feel juicy, alive, sensual, and turned on like crazy! NOW that is the kind of energy you want going into your food…orgasmic goodness!
BREATHE: Inhale down into your pelvic floor, specifically your yoni (vagina). Exhale, release your breath, letting it flow back up. You can imagine the energy flowing from your heart to your yoni and back up again on the exhale.
PULSE: On each inhale, squeeze or pulse your pc muscles (the same muscles you squeeze to stop your urine flow). Hold for three counts while holding your breath. Then exhale and release the pc squeeze. Feel free to exhale with a moan or whatever primal sound of release that feels natural for you.
You can continue doing this—inhale, squeeze. Hold for three seconds. Exhale, release.
OR you can do a quicker, more rapid version. Inhale in through your nose, inflating your belly, and pulsing the pc muscles. Exhaling immediately through your nose, pushing your belly in, releasing the pulse. Inhale, pulse. Exhale, release. You can do this as quickly as you like.
This version is meant to stir up your sexual fires and may require some practice to get into it. But doing this while you’re preparing your food? Holy fuck! It will feel good and your food will carry that orgasmic, loving, sensual, and perhaps even erotic, energy.
I also like to treat my food like my lover and seduce myself with it before I take the first bite. Plate your food beautifully. Arrange it on the table with candles and flowers or herbs sprinkled on top. Smell the aromas, let them entice you.
Slowly feed yourself a bite and perhaps pull it away softly as the tip of your tongue touches it. Just the way a lover would tease you. (; Chew it slowly, noticing textures and flavors. Close your eyes and revel in gratitude for the pleasurable, sensual experience you are letting yourself have with food.
